Originally published on the More-than-Human Participatory Research blog, an AHRC funded project exploring the possibility of extending participatory research techniques to non-humans. We're very excited to be kicking off the blog for our new research project In conversation with...: codesigning with more than human communities. We really weren't sure whether a project that proposed having research conversations with dogs, bees, trees and water would really be seen as fundable material and so were a little surprised, but very pleased, that the Connected Communities team thought it was. The idea was developed at the 2012 Connected Communities summit by a range of researchers who have all been working on issues to do with community, participatory research and the environment (or more-than-human) in a variety of ways. We're looking forward to sharing out experiences and thoughts as the project progresses and also look forward to the new conversations generated here on the website. Ultimately we are hoping that this year's work will help develop a larger project that could support the further development of More-than-Human Participatory Research (MPR). |
